The Larva Cocoon is heavily armored and is morphed into by the Parasite when it reaches max energy. After 10 seconds, a Licker, Leaper, Wraith, or Arch Vile will be hatched from the cocoon.
Engagement & Tactics[]
Due to the damage reduction and armor of the larva cocoon, it is rarely ideal to kill the cocoon, but rather kill the unit that spawns from it. This can be risky though, because the units that it spawns are dangerous to individuals. Planting explosive charges, plasma mines, C4, claymores, or combinations of the latter on the cocoon and detonating them when the cocoon hatches can kill or weaken the hatched zombie.
