JFO

JFO is the preferred skill tree for less skilled FSS players, since it doesn’t require such precise timing, and reaches maximum capacity within 4 levels instead of 8. It is also arguably just as useful as the CFF tree in Nightmare, since it provides very effective crowd-control and will help keep your team alive during the worst spawns, since you can clear out the base if it gets overrun without killing allies, something CFF cannot do.

Even if you're playing a JFO FSS, you need 1 level of CFF before the fungus core mission starts to help the team clear them out faster. You are the prime person to do this mission! Coordinate with your team if anybody helps you and which cores they take. The IDF Tree is prioritised over more levels in cff for the utility it provides. And stop &@(#ing dying to hunters during this mission

4x JFO, 1x CFF, (2x Soldier Skills), 1x JFO, 4x IDF Support, CFF after

SI: EN+IP/IN

Items:

  • KI - for you energy needs

  • OPA, Kevlar - if you need to go for missions

  • HK42 - if the medics don't want this, you should take it

CFF

CFF 2 is nice for the fungus core mission since CFF 1 requires 2 shells to kill them, and Railgun is nice for the Maw mission because Railgun. Try to take bosses off of people, kite them away, and shell them. There is (typically) a lot of risk in calling CFF whilst not kiting the target because 1) the target can evade it whether its simply because of the target’s pathing or because someone else agros the boss away, or 2) because someone might run into it - which typically won’t happen when you’re the one doing the kiting.
